Qutab Minar

It is a rising, 73 m-high tower built in 1193. The heritages of Qutab Minar are not very clear. Some people think it was created as a victory tower to show the commencement of the Muslim rule in India. While others believe that, it was intended as a place for muezzins for prayers. No matter what is its origin, no one can deny that the Qutab Minar is one of the greatest monuments of India and the world.


Red Fort

Red Fort is built with the red stone, hence the name. It is one of the most splendid forts in the world. Indian history is closely connected with this fort. It is a souvenir of the bravura power and splendour of the Mughal emperors. After ruling Agra for 11 years, the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan moved to Delhi and placed the establishing stone of the Red Fort in 1618.


Humayun's Tomb

It is considered as the first well-developed illustration of Mughal architecture in India. It was built by the emperor Haji Begum in 1565 AD., who was grieving for his wife that time. Based on the design of the Persian architect, Mirza Ghyas, Humayun's Tomb is also a presentation of the noticeable modification from the Persian tradition of using colored tiles for adornment.

Jantar Mantar

Constructed in 1724, Jantar Mantar is an observatory telling about the methods, and apparatuses that were used in earlier times to read astronomical movements. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur who was also a profound astronomer and a noble in the Mughal crown court. The mechanisms at Jantar Mantar are enthralling for their inventiveness, however precise observations are very difficult to make because of the high buildings around this state-of-the-art structure of the ancient times.


Jama Masjid

Construction of the Jama Masjid was started by Mughal ruler Shah Jahan in 1650 to balance the outlook his palace at the Red Fort. Over 5,000 workers worked for six years to finish the biggest mosque in India. Jama Masjid has three entrances and the largest and highest gateway on the east side was reserved solely for the emperor.


India Gate

India Gate was erected as a memorial to honor the 70,000 India soldiers that were killed during World War I. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, this edifice was finished in 1931. Constructed from sandstone, India Gate also keeps the Eternal Flame, which honors the memory of the Indian soldiers who were killed in the war with Pakistan in 1971.


Rajghat
